What makes the Las Vegas Strip so special?

Visiting the Las Vegas strip obviously means different things to different groups but there are several basic reasons people consider The Strip so special or appealing. Neon lights, great entertainment, fun for both individuals and families, cheap and luxury mixed together, gambling, restaurants and the general feeling of being with others. The Strip is so diverse that almost anyone can find something special about it. Drafting a game plan before visiting The Strip is probably a good idea since there is most likely more to see than there is time.

In the days when liquor and gambling where illegal, families did not frequent the establishments. Even when gaming became respectable, children still were not see in the casinos. Nowadays, the clubs have transformed into massive theme parks complete with babysitters, playgrounds and any other imaginable amenity to entice parents to come children in tow. Legally children still cannot go into a casino but with such family oriented services, more parents are choosing The Las Vegas Strip for their vacation. The resorts here are just as popular as the original children's parks such as Disneyland.

Neon lights are exciting to everyone and since Las Vegas is one of the brightest spots on earth, many people just enjoy walking The Strip taking in all the scenery and night life. Loneliness is a non-emotion here and the lure of The Strip can be appealing to many. There is also something exciting about hearing the sounds of the goings-on and seeing the hustle and bustle of the millions of people.

Big time entertainers performing at clubs on The Strip bring in large numbers of people aching to see the likes of Wayne Newton, Elton John, Danny Gans (died suddenly May 1, 2009), Bette Midler, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart as well as UFC champ ‘Sugar’ Rashad Evans and so many other excellent performers who sing, dance, impersonate, box, and those who dazzle with death-defying stunts.

The Strip is also known for romance. Look-alike personality weddings, traditional wedding chapels, honeymoon vacation packages and spas, anniversary getaways, and luxurious hotel suites for those love birds that just do not want to leave their room.

Although this seems rather trivial, the truth is one of the biggest draws of Las Vegas are the huge buffets. Whenever someone mentions going to Las Vegas, you will always find someone else who says “ don't go without eating at such and such buffet”. The casinos are notorious for grand buffets at very cheap prices usually less than five dollars per person.

Unquestionably, The Strip appeals to everyone because of its diversity. The establishments have tried to attract all walks of people in all stages of their lives. All of these features make the The Strip special.
